The World Health Organization defines health as physical health, mental health, moral integrity, and social adaptation. In the past, people paid more attention to physical health. However, with the improvement of material living standards and the intensification of social competition, an increasing number of individuals are focusing on mental health. So, what constitutes mental health? Psychologists describe the standards for mental health as follows:
1. Having a moderate sense of security, self-esteem, and a sense of achievement.
2. Engaging in moderate self-criticism without excessive self-praise or self-blame.
3. Demonstrating moderate initiative in daily life and not being overly influenced by the environment.
4. Being rational, realistic, objective, and having good contact with reality, tolerating the setbacks of life without excessive fantasies.
5. Moderately accepting personal needs and having the ability to fulfill these needs.
6. Having self-awareness, understanding one's own motives and purposes, and being able to make an objective assessment of one's abilities.
7. Maintaining the integrity and harmony of one's personality, adapting personal values to social standards, and being able to concentrate on one's work.
8. Having realistic life goals.
9. Having the ability to learn from experience and adapt to the changing needs of the environment.
10. Having good interpersonal relationships, the ability to love, and the ability to be loved.
11. Maintaining one's individuality without violating social standards, neither excessively flattering nor seeking social approval, having independent opinions, and having a standard for judging right and wrong.
